The plot of Dark Skies is as follows:
Daniel Barrett and his wife Lacy Barrett, together with their two children Sammy and Jesse, are at the center of the story. Lacy often lends her assistance to the family since Daniel is inconsistent in staying to one career and constantly changes professions. As a result of the financial problems, Lucy assumed control of the family. They are going about their daily lives when weird things begin to happen in their home.
Lacy notices strange drawings on the kitchen ceiling with no known source, family photos start to vanish for no apparent reason, and the scope of these unexplained events grows when the house’s security system distinguishes posing a threat to the family’s security and indicating a possible breach of the system. Soon later, the family starts to admit that things are spiraling out of hand. Sammy, the youngest kid, begins to have strange experiences.
He says that he gets visited at night by a weird monster. When his mother enters his room to investigate the situation, she notices a person with an odd look hovering over his son’s head. Unrest in the family continues to occur as a result of incidents. Strange symbols begin to develop on Sammy and Jesse’s bodies for no apparent reason, and various types of birds begin to fall and die at their house, leaving them puzzled.
They are perplexed as to what is causing all of the strange events in the home. Lacy reveals the cause for the alien creatures’ involvement, but her husband denies it. They seek assistance from a so-called expert who would inform them about the issue. He tells the Barretts about the Greys, extraterrestrial creatures that have come to Earth for a purpose and will not leave until they achieve their goal. So much so that other families have had similar experiences, resulting in the kidnapping and eventual death of their children at the hands of Greys.
Following the recurrence of similar incidents in other families, the couple believes that their youngest child may be the Greys’ next victim. As a result, they start devising plans to shield him from the coming threat. Will the Greys be able to kidnap Sammy? or are these alien entities motivated by something else that Barretts aren’t aware of? You’ll have to see the movie for yourself to find out.
